Zaryadye

The place owes its name to its location as is was situated behind the main shopping rows that were nearer to the Kremlin ("Zaryadye" stems from two Russian words "za ryadami" meaning "behind the rows"). This territory was occupied mainly by churches and inns.

The Russia Hotel

One of Europe's largest hotels, Russia hotel, that for a long period has been an essential part of Moscow scenery and one of main sights of the city, is now being closed for a reconstruction.
