Near Nedvigovka village, Myasnikovsky district, world famous open air museum is located - Tanais Archeological Museum Park. It presents history, life and culture of the most northern antique colony, founded by Bospor Greeks in III century b. c. Tanais, being a large Azov land economical, political and cultural center, lasted for seven ages, struggling hardly for life with numerous nomadic peoples of Low Don land - Scythians, Sarmatians, Alans… Tourists can walk through this ancient city that has appeared from long ages ago, see its fortifications and a house of a citizen, visit the excavations of the settlement and necropolis, overview the numerous exhibitions and enjoy the spirit of antiquity.

History of Azov town is over 900 years long. Streets, squares and fortifications witnessed Mongols, Tatars, Turks, Polovets, Slavs, Cossacks, soldiers and sailors of Peter I. The town remembers the capture by Tamerlan's troops, the Azov Siege, the campaigns of Peter I. Remains of Genoese wall, fortress rampart and graff, Alexey's gates and other fortifications are preserved here.

Azov Historical, Archeological and Paleontological Museum Park possesses the only paleontological collection at the south of Russia, main pearls of which are the trogonterium elephant and giant dinotherium.
