Protected areas and national parks
Tyumen region possesses great resources of underground mineral curing waters. Water baths and swimming pools with natural mineral water are very popular.

Andreevskoe lake is located on the 23rd km. of Yalutorovsk road, 11 kms away from Tyumen. It is one of the most popular recreation places. It is a system of small and large lakes that are connected by bayous and channels of various length and width. The lakes are famous with amazing beaches, clean air of pine woods that encircle the lakes.

Lebyazhye lake. 10 kms away from Tyumen road turns left and leads there. It's a small but amazingly beautiful lake, encircled by pines, birch and bird cherry groves.

Malyi Taraskul lake is situated 15 kms southwards from Tyumen and surrounded by a thick pine and birch wood. Its bottom is sandy with decay ooze deposits that are being used for medical purposes. In the 1950-s a crack was bored on its western bank in search of oil, but mineral water poured up instead. The water turned out to be curing. If you turn right 14 kms away from Tyumen and drive 2.5 kms more, you will get to the Bolshoi Taraskul lake. Its curing properties are legendary. That's why in 1956 here a sanatorium was built for children having respiratory organs malfunction.

Sinitsynsky wood. 6 kms away from Ishim a unique monument of nature is situated - Sinitsynsky wood with parts of relic coniferous wood and rare species of plants (fern), that have preserved here since pre-glacier epoch and are listed in the Russian Federation Red Book now. Geothermal mineral water springs crop out here having rare curing properties. Nearby lakes have deposits of highly effective curing muds being used for benefit of the tourists' health.

Bitter-and-Salty lake. It is located 18 kms away from Ishim. Bitter-and-Salty lake is distinguished from other salty lakes by high level of mineralization of its water. Mud from this lake has highly curing properties and falls into the group of sulfide decay oozez. The muds are used for treating locomotor apparatus and nervous system malfunctions, dermatological, gynecological and other diseases.
