The Church of the Resurrection of Christ at Kadashy
The church building is two-storied: an upper church is for the sake of the Resurrection, and the lower one is devoted to the Assumption of Our Lady. Its base is that of a traditional five-domed Moscow church of the 17th century. A belfry joins it.
We proceed with our walk along the Moskvoretsky bridge over the Moskva River built in 1938. It blends nicely with the panorama of the Kremlin and the St. Basil's Cathedral. A block of houses with shops in the ground floor existed in Moskvoretskaya St. before this bridge was built, and its predecessor was made of wooden logs tied together. Today, we see a 95-meter-long arch faced with pink granite bringing us to the St. Basil's Cathedral.
